    The Chief Minister announces that all departments and Panchayatiraj institutions are directed to set aside 2% of their budget allocation for capacity building programmes and trainings for the youths;Hon’ble Minister N.K. Pradhan,Department of Information Technology attends NE Business Summit at Kolkata. Shri NK Pradhan was the guest of Honour for the session on IT and skill development. In his address he highlighted the initiative been taken by Sikkim in the IT sector with special reference to the livelihood schools in the state under the capacity building programme. Mr. RP Chingapa Secretary IT and Mr Rajesh Verma Pr. Director IT also participated in the Summit  : State Level Panchayat Sammelan scheduled to be  held on the 19th January 2010 at Sichey Public Ground, Gangtok, Chief Minister to be the Chief Guest on the occasion which is expected to be attended by Member of Parliament, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, Chairpersons, Head of Departments and about 1000 Panchayat members.: Revised Janta Mela Programme dates : North Sikkim- 22/02/2010, East Sikkim- 23/02/2010,  South Sikkim- 24/02/2010,  West Sikkim- 25/02/2010: Review meeting convened in the chamber of the District Collector (South) at South District Administrative Centre to prepare for the celebration of Republic Day, first of a kind Open Marathon to be organized at Namchi to mark the occasion of Republic Day. The Open Marathon has been marked as a National Event and the motto of the Marathon would be “Run for the Unity of the Nation”. Open Marathon to be flagged off by Area MLA, Mr. Binod Rai.  : Pulse Polio Immunisation programme to be held on 10th Jan and 07 Feb 2010; Prime Minister , Dr Man Mohan Singh congratulates Chief Minister, Shri Pawan Chamling on Sikkim’s outstanding performance and also assured to resolve Sikkim’s road blockade problems; Institute of Capacity Building announces course on Hair Dressing, Herbal Massage, Spoken English and salesmanship to begin from 20 Feb 2010;The Ministry of Tourism has identified Gangtok and 28 other destinations of the country for Tourism Mega Projects; A 56 member contingent will be representing Sikkim at the National Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan(PYKKA) sports competition in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh from 10 to 13 January
