Background
Prior to joining Politics actively took part in social activities for the upliftment of poor and the downtrodden. President of All Sikkim Students Association during college years and also actively involved in other social bodies like drivers Association.
Joined S D F Party in the beginning of 90's as youth in charge and Vice
President of the Party, actively campaigned for the party which led to
the fall of the then Sikkim Sangram Parishad Government. Contested the
election from Lachen-Mangshila Constituency under the banner of SDF Party
and got elected to the 5th Sikkim Legislative Assembly. Re-elected in
2004 and is inducted into the Cabinet as Minister for Health Care, Human
Service & Family Welfare Department,
Social Justice, Empowerment & Welfare Department.
