In 1994 contested from Rumtek Constituency as SSP candidate & Won the election, joined SDF in 1995; 1995-1999 worked as Chairman of SBS, SNT, Milk Union, PAC was General Secretary (East), CEC, SDF in 1999, General Secretary (Organisation) SDF from 2000-01, General Secretary (Incharge East) from 2001-04. Elected from Rumtek Constituency in the year 2004 and won and inducted in the cabinet as Minister in charge of Water Security & Public Health Engineering, Transport Departments.
