is a Multi-Lingual Message Server that has been deployed for Department
of Information Technology and other user Departments under Govt. of Sikkim.

Overview
Sikkimdak
Message Server is developed for exchanging electronic messages in Sikkim
local languages, viz., Nepali, Bhutia, Lepcha, Hindi and English. In
addition, a message can be composed by mixing text of any of these five
languages in the same e-mail content simultaneously.
Sikkimdak
is a message server through which a user can send/receive messages to/from
other Sikkimdak user or to/from any other user of any other message server
on the Internet in a uniform way. Sikkimdak user can send messages written in
any mixture of above implemented Sikkim
local languages to any user on the Internet. The recipient can view the e-mail
through any standard browser like Internet Explorer.

Messaging Server has following features:
- Sikkimdak provides complete
user interface in any of the language (viz. Nepali, Bhutia, Lepcha, Hindi and English)
giving extremely familiar look to the user.
- As an e-mail in Sikkimdak can
be composed with a mixture of characters/sentences from any of the languages
(viz. Nepali, Bhutia, Lepcha, Hindi, and English), simultaneously.
- Sikkimdak provides multiple
keyboard options for users to choose from. A user can have the standard
English keyboard, or INSCRIPT bilingual keyboard, or can choose to input
as phonetic or typewriter keyboard. Further, a user can switch from one
keyboard option to another at any point of his input.
- Sikkimdak provides search
facility on its e-mails’ text as well as on Subject field irrespective
of what script/scripts has/have been used in the message text and in the
Subject field.
