ADC Gyalshing chairs District Level Consultative Committee Meeting

Gyalshing, May 7(IPR): A meeting of the District Level Consultative Committee (DLCC) with the bankers of Gyalshing district was convened at the Conference Hall of District Administrative Centre Gyalshing, today.
The meeting was chaired by Mr Khemraj Bhattarai, ADC Gyalshing and had participation of Mr Sagar Sharma, Zilla Panchayat Member Gyalshing, Mr Subash Luyagum, Manager Reserve Bank of India Gangtok, Mr Rupan Kumar Lamichaney, AGM NABARD Namchi, representatives from various Commercial, Private, Cooperative Banks of the district and SHG representatives.
During the meeting, Mr Bhattarai ADC Gyalshing whilst expressing his concerns over the depletion in the Credit Deposit Ratio (CDR) in the district, advised the bankers to bring about transparency and put in place robust mechanism targeting general population of the district and improve upon accessibility to banking benefits. He asked the respective banks faring poorly to come up with workable plans to improve their ratings.
ADC Gyalshing urged SHGs for joining hands with the Banks to impart awareness on the central and state schemes pertaining to various subsidised loans provided by the governments, which include Kisan Credit Card (KCC )loans, Self Help Group loans, Housing and Education loans.
At the meeting, Special emphasis and indepth deliberations was allocated to Credit Deposit Ratio, Review of Annual Credit Plan (Priority Sector) and its subsidiaries topics that covered Total Achievement under ACP 2023-04 in Agriculture and Allied Activities, MSME Sector, Other Priority Sector and Non-Priority Sector.
Review on Government sponsored schemes like PM Employment Generation Programme sponsored by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Khadi & Village Industry Boards (KVIB) and District Industry Centres (DIC) were meticulously discussed.
Stakeholders were suggested to collaborate with registered SHGs under SRLM for elevation in the saving and credit linkage in the district. Banks performance on issuance of Kisan Credit Card, Housing Finance Scheme and Education Loan achievement percentage were also informed as per the fourth Quarter of 2023-04.
The meeting stressed on the importance of Financial Literacy Camps and Credit Counselling Campaign in the district. The crucial aspects of conducting the Block Level Banking Committee meetings towards enhancement in the ratio of achievement at the grassroots was also sensitised. Earlier, the meeting began with the conformation of proceedings of the DCC meeting held on February 16 and alongwith follow-up on the key action points emerged.
The meeting concluded with the vote of thank to the chair and the collective commitment to improve upon all critical indicators of financial institutions in the district across sectors for first quarter of Financial Year 2024-25.
