Project Swastik Hosts Thrilling Events in Celebration of 65th Anniversary of BORDER ROADS ORGANISATION
May 4, 2024 - As part of 65th Raising day celebrations of Border Roads Organisation , Project Swastik organises multiple exhilarating activities, showcasing the organization's commitment to excellence and community engagement.
In the stunning landscapes of North Sikkim, a spectacular bike rally took center stage, featuring nine skilled bikers navigating through some of the region's most challenging terrain. Starting from the iconic Rangma range, the route took participants through the picturesque locales of Lachen, Zeema, Donkhyala Pass, Lachung, before concluding back at the Rangma range. The rally not only celebrated the BRO's legacy of connectivity but also demonstrated the exceptional skills of its personnel in conquering diverse terrains.
Bike rally was flagged of from Rangma range by Pipen of Lachen in presence of various civil society members. Enroute to Donkyal pass and further to Lachung, brave riders of Project Swastik received warm reception at Lachen, Thangu, Shivmandir and Lachung. Through bike rally, Project Swastik spread awareness amongst people of North Sikkim about various initiatives and actions being taken by BRO to restore connectivity in the region at the earliest.
Meanwhile, in the vibrant city of Gangtok, a lively walkathon captivated participants from all walks of life. More than 300 BRO personals under leadership of Chief Engineer participated in the walkathon. Covering a distance of 2.5 kilometers, the walk commenced at the plant nursery between Tashi View Point and Ganesh Tok, leading participants on a scenic journey to Tashi View Point where it culminated. Enthusiastic participants, fueled by determination and camaraderie, embodied the spirit of the BRO's mission to foster unity and progress.
These events served as a testament to the BRO's unwavering dedication to enhancing connectivity, promoting adventure, and strengthening community bonds. As the organization celebrates 65 years of excellence, it looks forward to continuing its journey of service and innovation for many years to come.
