Commerce and Industries department organises one day Awareness programme-cum-Workshop for Entrepreneurs of Yuksam Block

One day Awareness Programme-cum-Workshop on Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization Scheme (UNNATI),Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP), PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME), Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), PM Vishwakarma, Skilled Youth Start-up Scheme (SYSS) for Entrepreneurs of Yuksam and vicinity under Gyalshing district was organised by Commerce and Industries Department ,Govt of Sikkim at Yuksam Block GPK Hall, today.
The main objective of the the workshop/training was to identify and train eligible entrepreneurs.
Mr Ds Limboo Zilla Adhakshya Gyalshing graced the programme as the chief guest accompanied by Mr M Ravi Kumar,IFS Director MSME Commerce & Industries Deptt, Mr SM Limboo BDO Yuksam,Ms Sunita Limboo Panchayat President(Yuksam Dubdi) and Mr Kumar Basnett Panchayat Vice president. (Thingling),Mr Hemant Sharma Dy Secretary MSME(C&I Deptt),M Bimla Chettri AD MSM,Mr Santosh Shaw PIU,UNNATI Sikkim,Mr Lok Manas Adhikari SPIU, RAMP, Sikkim,Mr Manas Kumar Das, SPMV, PMV, Sikkim,Inspectors MSME(C&I Deptt),panchayat members (Yuksam-Dubdi,Thingling), stakeholders and general public.
The programme began with a powerpoint presentation on overview and introduction of different Central and State Schemes like-PMEGP, PMFME, UNNATI, SYSS and PM Vishwakarma by Mr M Ravi Kumar IFS Director ,MSME (C& I Deptt).He also urged the youth to avail the benefits of the schemes.
Zilla Adhakshya in his address stressed that the awareness programme is aimed at creating and promoting entrepreneurship among targeted group and youth in particular by facilitating the subsidised credit facilities through various Central and the State government .He urged the panchayat members to motivate and scout the potential youth in their respective areas to avail such benefits and make business and entrepreneurship as career options.
Mr Limboo advised the panchayat members to disseminate information especially among the youths, NGOs, community body organisations, youth development societies and also at the individual levels for the effectiveness of such schemes. He underlined the need of financial literacy among the mass and urged the financial institutions and banks to conduct a brief financial literacy campaign(FLC) to educate panchayat members who are important mediators between the providers and the beneficiaries.
Technical experts Mr Santosh Shaw made his presentation on UNNATI, Mr Lokmanas Adhikari on RAMP, PMFME, PMEGP and
Mr Manas Kumar Das on PM Vishwakarma Scheme. The experts briefed the gathering in detail on the norms and criteria,to avail the benefits of the schemes.
Ms Bimla Chettri Assistant Director,MSME Commerce and Industries Deptt,Govt of Sikkim in her address briefed the gathering on the objective of the programme being creating required awareness among local entrepreneurs and stakeholders about Important central sector schemes. She also gave a comprehensive insight on the Skilled Youth Start-up Scheme (SYSS) and urged the youth to avail the scheme for economic growth and self sustainability.
As a mark of inspiration "Certificate of Appreciation" was bestowed to the best performing entrepreneurs of Yuksam block viz-

The programme also had an interactive session in which participants came out with their doubts which were clarified by the experts.
Earlier,the welcome address was delivered by Mr Basant Tamang(former chairman)and vote of thanks proposed by Ms Sunita Limboo Panchyat president.
