Minister Shri Lok Nath Sharma visited Government Senior Secondary School, Chujachen

Gangtok, January 20 (IPR): With a view to enlighten the students on agriculture and livestock farming, the Hon'ble Minister, Agriculture, Horticulture and Veterinary Services Departments, Shri Lok Nath Sharma visited Government Senior Secondary School, Chujachen, this afternoon.
While addressing the first interactive session with the students, the Minister shared the initiative and programme of the State Government under the leadership of the Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Tamang to introduce practical education of agriculture in the academic syllabus in every school and educational institutions.
In his address, the Minister articulated on the significant role of agriculture and livestock farming and further also motivated them to involve in obtaining vocational education in agricultural. He underlined the strength of the students, who can pave the way for building a progressive and self-reliant state by involving themselves in the sustainable income-generating profession, he added. He also highlighted the wide scope and enormous range of opportunities in the agriculture sector in the years to come.
The Minister also informed to provide a tubular greenhouse, flexitank of fifty thousand litre, poly pipe, agro net and other necessary requirements to teach practical education in school premises. He encouraged students to be updated with the new technology and developments in the agriculture sector, across the globe.
The Minister was also accompanied by Joint Director Horticulture (E) Shri Passang Tamang, J.D. Horticulture Rongli Sub Division Shri T. Chopel, Block Development Officer/Regu Shri Bhim Pradhan, Officials of concerned departments and others.
