2ND ASIAN DEVELOPMENT BANK MISSION TEAM VISITS SIKKIM FOR THE "INTEGRATED, CLIMATE RESILIENT AND SUSTAINABLE URBAN DEVELOPMENT OF EIGHT TOWNS OF SIKKIM" PROJECT

Pakyong, 11 February (IPR): The 2nd Asian Development Bank Mission team is currently visiting Sikkim to oversee the "Integrated, Climate Resilient and Sustainable Urban Development of Eight Towns of Sikkim" project.
The project is being funded by the Asian Development Bank and overseen by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The towns included in this project are Rangpo, Singtam, Tadong, Ranipool Pakyong, Mangan, Soreng, and Gyalshing.
Mr Manoj Sharma, Director of Water and Urban Development, ADB is directing the mission, accompanied by Mr Hikaru, Senior Urban Development Specialist, ADB; Mr Bhavesh Kumar, Senior Project Officer, ADB; Mr Jayakumar Divakaran, Consultant, ADB; and Mr. Akshat Jain, Consultant, ADB.
Following their arrival in Rangpo, the team conducted inspections at the multi-level parking project site and had discussions with the Urban Local Bodies of Rangpo Nagar Panchayat and Singtam Nagar Panchayat. Additionally, the team visited Majhitar, Rangpo, which is the site for the water supply and sewerage.
The detailed project report's preparatory work was carried out by Mr. Suresh Tamang, President SNP; Mr. Mukesh Agarwal, Councillor; Mr. Suren Tamang, MEO Rangpo; and Mr. Ujwal Pandey, MEO Singtam, along with officials from the Urban Development Department.
