Gangtok, Sept 18 (IPR): A follow-up meeting with regard to the upcoming visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Sikkim from 10-15 October, 2023 (revised dates) was chaired by Chief Secretary, Shri V.B. Pathak, at the Teesta Lounge of Tashiling Secretariat today.
The meeting discussed the tentative programme schedule and groundwork preparations for His Holiness's visit.
Officials from concerned departments updated the CS on the various measures being taken to streamline strategies for crowd control, traffic management, enhanced security protocols and, media and communications.
The meeting concluded with the decision to reconvene in the coming days to further review the progress on the preparations for His Holiness's visit and to accordingly address any additional concerns or developments that may arise during this period.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Shri A. Sudhakar Rao, SP, Gangtok, Shri Tenzing Loden Lepcha, DIG, Special Branch, Shri Pratap Pradhan, Secretary, Planning, Shri Rinzing Chewang Bhutia, Secretary, Home, Smt. Tashi Chocho, Secretary, IPR, Ms. Karma D. Youtso, Secretary, Transport, Shri Raj Yadav, Secretary, IT, Shri Yogendra Sharma, Special Secretary, Ecclesiastical Department, Smt. Kincho Doma Lepcha, and officials from various line departments
