Review Meeting for Aspirational District successfully conducted in West district

Gyalshing, 09 July (IPR): Review meeting for NITI AAYOG initiative of transforming Aspirational District was held today here at the conference hall of West District Zilla Panchayat in Kyongsha,West Sikkim.
The programme was chaired by District Collector (West), Shri Karma R. Bonpo, IAS, along with Sub Divisional Magistrate (HQ), Shri Tushar G. Nikhare, IAS, HoDs of all line departments of the district and local NGOs.
The DC West while addressing the officers urged the departments involved to pick up the pace and start to progress towards the improvement of the indicators of Aspirational District in West Sikkim. He stated that the ranking of the districts changes everyday and to meet the target set up he requested officers concerned to review progress on regular basis at departmental level and ensure submission of data to be entered into the portal should be timely checked and reviewed with utmost responsibility by the designated officers of the department.
He also suggested the Health Department, Education Department and ICDS to put some works collectively and in convergence to make an overall development and good results.
The DC West advised the officers to keep proper records and work with full enthuse. He urged the officers present to understand the gravity of the situation and work hand in hand with each other for making West Sikkim the number one district of India. He stated that the West District has an opportunity to work for the future of the District and to showcase their talents and efficiency.
Shri Bonpo informed the audience about upcoming important meeting with Chief Secretary and asked the District Departments to put requests for manpower shortages and innovative projects which they want to execute. He said that the top performing districts win handsome rewards and there’s no reason why West Sikkim cannot win it. He applauded the efforts put in by Health Department and has asked other dept to follow up on the lead of Health Department.
The SDM (HQ) also briefed the gathering under similar lines and urged the departments to focus more on the programmes of the Aspirational District and act promptly.
