Training for Field Trainers for Census, 2021

Namchi, 17th February (IPR): A five day long training of Field Trainers (FT) of South and West District for the Census 2021 was inaugurated at State Institute of Rural Development, Karfectar, today. The training program was inaugurated by Director of Census Operations, Sikkim Mrs. Yasoda Bhandari in presence of ADC cum District Census Officer (South) Mr. Satyen K. Pradhan, SDM (Yangang) cum Master Trainer Mr. Sangay Gyatso alongwith officials from Census of India and trainees.

After acquiring the training, these FTs will train the enumerators and supervisors of the districts and also assist the respective Charge officers.

On the occasion, director Mrs. Bhandari spoke of the importance of census and it's impact on the planning process. Further, she asked the FTs to train the field workers efficiently emphasizing that the quality of census depends on the field workers.

Addressing the gathering ADC (South) encouraged the participants to understand the training module in an efficient manner as they will be responsible to train the field workers. They have to also maintain smooth co-ordination during the process of census.

It may be noted that the census 2021 is due soon and the activities related to the census works have already been started. A total number of 15 trainees have been training in the program that will conclude on 21st february.
