Union Minister Steel, Government of India, Shri Ram Chandra Prasad Singh called on the Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang

Gangtok, May 14 (IPR): The Union Minister Steel, Government of India, Shri Ram Chandra Prasad Singh called on the Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang at his official residence at Mintokgang, today.
He appreciated the development of the state in the last three years despite the COVID 19 pandemic.
He applauded the banning of packaged water bottles and appreciated the State government’s effort to maintain a clean and healthy environment in the state.
During the call, essential issues regarding connectivity regarding transportation were elaborately discussed. The Union Minister suggested naming the train to Sikkim as Sikkim Rajdhani and instructed to design the Rail Coaches according to Sikkimese Tradition.
In this regard, the Chief Minister has proposed to write to the Railway Minister.
The Chief Minister informed that the proposal for having a National Level Yoga Center in the vicinity of Guru Dongmar Lake had been discussed with the Union Minister of Ayush, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal which will help the Yoga aspirants to practice meditation in a calm and silent Himalayan territory.
The Union Minister assured to pursue the proposals of the State Government in the Ministry.
Chief Minister, Shri P.S. Tamang expressed his gratitude to the Union Minister for his visit to the state.
Chief Secretary, S.C Gupta, and Secretary to the Chief Minister, Dr S.D Dhakal were also present during the call on.
