Gyalshing, 5th June, 2020 (IPR): The Hon'ble Deputy Speaker, Sikkim Legislative Assembly (SLA) Shri. Sangay Lepcha and the Hon'ble Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, IPR and Printing and Stationery Departments Shri Lok Nath Sharma planted saplings of Cherry species in a plantation drive organised by 72Bn SSB Melli-Aching (Yuksam) at Pachebong under Yuksom Tashiding Constituency (W). The District Collector West, Shri Karma R Bonpo, 36 Bn SSB Commandant Shri. R N Mishra and other officials also planted saplings to celebrate World Environment Day 2020 with the theme of "Celebrate Biodiversity".
After the plantation, Dy. Speaker Shri Sangay Lepcha and Minister Sharma had an interaction with the District Level Officers, Commandant Mishra and Sr. Officials of SSB in a brief session held at SSB premises. Minister Sharma also advised to make use of left out barren land for cultivation purpose
