Awareness and Sensitisation Programme on PM-KISAN Held at Tinik GP Kendra
Namchi, 23 May :
The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), under the Agriculture Department of Namchi District, organised an Awareness-cum-Sensitisation Programme on the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) saturation drive at the Tinik Gram Prasashan Kendra, under Jorethang Block.
The ongoing saturation drive, which continues throughout the month, aims to ensure that all eligible farmers are brought under the ambit of PM-KISAN. The key objectives of the programme include raising awareness among farmers about central government schemes and facilitating on-the-spot registration for eligible beneficiaries.
The programme was attended by Additional Director- Agriculture Department Ms Nirmala Moktan, Deputy Director AH&VS Dr Preety Rai, Dy PD ATMA Dr Nation Chamling,
ADO Ravangla Dr Arbin Majhi, Panchayat Vice President Tinik Chisopani GPU Mr K B Sanyasi, Former Chairman Farmers Welfare Board Mr Phurden Lepcha, HDO Horticulture Ms Kalpana Pradhan, Agriculture Inspectors, field staff, and local farmers, Panchayat members and other stakeholders from the community also actively participated in the event.
Alongside PM-KISAN, awareness was also raised on the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). A representative from Future Generali Pvt. Ltd. briefed attendees on the scheme, while registration services were provided by the Common Services Centre (CSC).
During the programme, awards were distributed to the outstanding farmers. In addition, Soil Health Cards, Vermi Tetra Beds, and various bio-organic inputs were handed out to encourage sustainable agricultural practices.
