In the year 2006-2007, Government of India, Ministry of Tourism had awarded Tourism and Civil Aviation Department “Best Tourism performing state for the year 2006 – 2007”. The Honorable External Affairs Minister, Shri Pranab Mukherjee presented the award along with the Honorable Minister for Tourism and Culture, Smt. Ambika Soni.
