“Sampoornata Abhiyan” under the Aspirational District Programme launched in Soreng District
Soreng, July 4 (IPR): Under the Aspirational District Programme, “Sampoornata Abhiyan” for the Soreng District was launched today at Community Hall, Jorethang.
Mr Madan Cintury MLA Salghari-Zoom Constituency launched the “Sampoornata Abhiyan” for the Soreng district in the gracious presence of Mrs Tila Devi Gurung Zilla Adhakshya Soreng, Mr CB Kami Zilla Up-Adhakshya Soreng, Zilla Panchayats and Panchayats.
The programme was also attended by Mr Dhiraj Subedi District Collector Soreng, Mr DR Bista ADC cum Nodal Officer Aspirational District Programme, Mr Gaayas Pega ADC (Dev.), Mr Gideon Lepcha SDM (HQ), Mr Sunny Kharel SDM Soreng cum Nodal Officer Aspirational Block Programme, Ms Tshomu Wangchuk Nodal Officer (NITI Aayog), BDOs, district HoDs, Mr Dev Nepal Program Manager, Piramal Foundation and Team, ASHA, Anganwadi & Health workers and SHG members.
Notably, NITI Aayog has launched the “Sampoornata Abhiyan” which is a three-month-long campaign from 4th July to 30th September 2024, to carry out a sustained campaign to achieve saturation in 6 identified indicators in Aspirational Districts and Aspirational Blocks across the country.
Addressing the house, the MLA apprised of various governmental programmes which contribute to turning the district into an inspirational district. He then asked all to accompany the support and coordination further to move towards development. Further, underlining the vision of the Chief Minister of Sikkim Mr Prem Singh Tamang, MLA appealed to all to support the government which helps in the progression of the district.
In his address, DC Soreng informed about the aim and working mechanism of NITI Aayog wherein he urged all to work together to reach the target concerning the key performance indicators of the Aspirational District/Block Programme. The respective Panchayats were asked to identify the linkages between the developmental work which would make it easier to develop strategies further.
The DC Soreng led the Sampoornata Abhiyan pledge-taking ceremony where the present gathering joined the ceremony.
During the programme, an explainer video of NITI Aayog was also showcased.
Likewise, a special session for the interaction with the attendees was also conducted wherein the present district officials addressed a formal grievance and suggestions.
A detailed powerpoint presentation on the Aspirational District Programme, Aspirational Block Programme along with its key performance indicators and “Sampoornata Abhiyan” was presented by Mr Sunny Kharel Nodal Officer ABP.
The programme also had a words on mental health and its importance which was delivered by Ms Sanjita Subba CHO.
Earlier, Mrs Pramila Gurung BDO Baiguney proposed the welcome note.
