16th Finance Commission arrives at Lachung
Mangan, January 21 (IPR):
The 16th Finance Commission delegation, led by Chairman Dr Arvind Panagariya, arrived at the Lachung Army Helipad in Mangan district earlier in the day, today.
The delegation, which included Dr Arvind Panagariya (Chairman), Ms Amita Panagariya, Dr Manoj Panda (Member), Ms Puspanjali Panda, Mr Ritvik Pandey (Member), Mr K.K. Mishra (Joint Secretary), Mr Kumar Vivek (PS to Chairman and Joint Director), Mr Davinder Chodha (Joint Director), Mr Abhishek Nandan (OSD to 16th FC), Dr Bhabesh Hazarika (Assistant Director), Ms Arushi Gupta (Assistant Director), Dr Thutop Gyatso (Medical Assistance), Mr Kumar Bardewa (Liaison Officer), Mr Rajendra Sharma (Liaison Officer), Mr Manoj Rai (Liaison Officer) and Mr Mahendra Pradhan (State Nodal Officer to 16th FC) was accorded a warm reception.
Upon their arrival at the Lachung Army Helipad, the delegation was greeted by Mr Anant Jain (IAS), District Collector Mangan, Mr Sonam Detchu Superintendent of Police Mangan, Mr Jigme Tsewang District Forest Officer, Mr Arun Chettri SDM Chungthang, Mr Sonam Tshering Lachungpa and Mr Dorjee Chewing Lachungpa both Pipons of Lachung. The team was also joined by local public representatives and staff.
The delegation was then given a Guard of Honour by district police officials. Thereafter, they were greeted by Mr Sonam Norgay Lachungpa, President of Travels Agents’ Association of Sikkim (TAAS) and other members.
The delegation will visit various parts of the region and halt at Lachung for the night
