33 Teams Gear Up for Mountain Rush: Vehicle Scrutiny Commences at Government Law College Burtuk
Gangtok, April 21(IPR):
The preparations for the much-anticipated 1st Mountain Rush TSD Car Rally entered a critical phase today with the commencement of the technical and administrative scrutiny of participating vehicles at the Government Law College premises in Burtuk.
Supervised by accredited officials from the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), the scrutiny process is a mandatory pre-rally procedure to ensure that all competing vehicles comply with safety regulations, technical standards, and rally-specific modifications. Participants underwent checks for documentation, vehicle fitness, and equipment compliance including safety harnesses, fire extinguishers, TSD meters, and emergency gear.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Scrutineer emphasised the importance of this process in maintaining a level playing field and ensuring the safety of all competitors throughout the rally.
As of now, 33 teams from across the country have registered for the 1st Mountain Rush TSD Car Rally, which is being organised by Summit Times in collaboration with Service to Mankind, and powered by Government of Sikkim, Information and Public Relations Department. The rally will cover some of the most scenic and challenging routes across the state, promoting both motorsports and rural tourism.
The vehicle scrutiny will continue through the day, followed by documentation clearance and drivers’ briefing sessions ahead of the ceremonial flag-off scheduled in the evening by the Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang.
