Awareness Programme on Various State and Central Government Schemes
Mangan, April 21 (IPR):
A one-day Awareness Programme on various State Government schemes as well as Central Government schemes under Raising and Accelerating MSMEs Performance (RAMP) was organised by Commerce and Industries Department in collaboration with Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Cell (SEED CELL) at Lingchom Tingda Community hall, today.
The programme was graced by MLA, Kabi Lungchok constituency and Advisor, Health and Family Welfare Department, Mr Thinley Tshering Bhutia as the chief guest. Also present were Zilla panchayat members, Panchayat President and Members and entrepreneurs.
The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a welcome speech delivered by General Manager of DIC Gangtok Mr Prakash Rai. He also provided a brief overview of the programme.
The keynote address was delivered by, Chief Coordinator SEED Cell, Mr Raj Lama. In his address, he encouraged unemployed youth to explore opportunities in the field of business, highlighting the various available schemes and income opportunities. He spoke about the various schemes designed by the State Government to foster a culture of entrepreneurship in the State.
Junior Engineer from the Commerce and Industries Department Mr Norbu Tshering Lepcha, gave a detailed presentation on the PMEGP scheme. This was followed by a comprehensive presentation on the RAMP and PM Vishwakarma schemes by Mr PK Chettri.
Thereafter, Deputy Director of DIC Mr Janak Bdr Chettri, delivered an in depth presentation on the UNNATI scheme. He elaborated on the objectives, eligibility criteria and benefits of the scheme, aiming to create awareness among the participants and encourage them to take advantage of the opportunities provided under the initiative.
MLA Mr Thinley Tshering Bhutia, in his address, encouraged the youth to take up agriculture and allied activities as a viable means of livelihood. He also emphasised the importance of using business earnings wisely and not misusing the income generated. Additionally, he urged the Zilla Panchayats to actively engage with higher authorities, identify the issues faced in their respective areas and work collaboratively to find effective solutions. He stated that the one day awareness programme was a step in the right direction. He thanked the organising department and the resource persons for holding the awareness programme.
Later, the programme featured an interactive session during which Ms Sangay Bhutia, an entrepreneur from the audience, shared insights into her business journey. She also shared a valuable business idea, encouraging others to explore opportunities in entrepreneurship.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Inspector, Commerce and Industries Department, Ms Ranjeeta Chettri.
