CM of Sikkim graces Platinum Jubilee celebration of KB Limboo Govt Sen Sec School at Sribadam
Soreng, December 18 (IPR):
Chief Minister of Sikkim Mr Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) graced the concluding day of the platinum jubilee celebration of KB Limboo Government Senior Secondary School Sribadam as the chief guest, celebrated at school playground, today.
Present at the event were Mr MN Sherpa Speaker (SLA), Mr Raju Basnet Minister (Education, Sports and Youth Affairs, and Law and Parliamentary Affairs Departments), MLAs, Chairpersons, former-Ministers, former-MLAs, former-Chairpersons, Mr Sonam Palzor Bhutia OSD (Education), Zilla Adhakshya (Soreng), Up-Adhakshya (Soreng), Zilla Panchayats, Panchayats Members, DC (Soreng), SP (Soreng), Mr Manoj Kumar Tamang Principal (KB Limboo GSS School), Head of Offices of the district, officers, officials, teachers and students.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister extended his gratitude to the School Management Committee for making him a part of the celebration. He then expressed his deep appreciation towards the land donors for being generous for a noble cause and their contributions. He also emphasised on the efforts of the state government in education sector, stating the importance of education with a note “education plays a vital role in one’s life”.
Further, he underscored about the Nar Bahadur Bhandari Fellowship Scheme, Chief Minister Education Assistance Scheme along with various government schemes that supports the students for their higher education. Additionally, he directed the concerned to take an immediate measures towards students and patients with critical illness, for the necessary assistance from the government.
The Chief Minister urged the Rinchenpong Constituency to work towards the necessary developments, while promoting the constituency in the tourism sector. Also, he encouraged the area MLAs of Soreng district to host a month long tourist festival, wherein he assured to provide a needful support for the same.
Concluding his address, he insisted everyone to keep themselves updated with the latest technologies and developments.
During the course of the programme, the Chief Minister was felicitated with a letter of appreciation by KB Limboo Government Senior Secondary School, Sribadam, the School Management Committee, and the Soreng District Zilla Panchayat. Also, Mr Erung Tenzing Lepcha MLA (Rinchenpong Constituency) was felicitated for his continuous support and his contributions towards the society.
The programme also had a series of cultural performances and the final match of Men’s Open Football Tournament played between Kaluk PS and CSA Chakung, with a score of 2-1 resulting Kaluk PS as a winner.
Earlier, the Chief Minister also received the Guard of Honour presented by the IRBn and Police Department, followed by the inauguration of the Chief Minister’s Mentorship Programme established at school premises, that aimed at improving academic performance for the Class X board exam. The HCM also inaugurated the "Phuntsok Choeling Mani Lhakhang" at Sribadam, Soreng in the gracious presence of VV Chogtrul Thekchog Rinpoche before proceeding towards the platinum jubilee celebration of KB Limboo Government Senior Secondary School.
