Celebrating Teacher’s Day: A Tribute to Educators and Their Lifelong Impact
Pakyong, 5 September (IPR): In a celebration dedicated to Teacher’s Day, the office of ADC (Development) took the initiative to honour the Retired Teachers Association of Pakyong at the conference hall of the Rurban Complex, bringing together individuals who have shaped the lives and minds of countless students over the years.
Teacher's Day, commemorated annually on September 5th, stands as a tribute to the remarkable contributions of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a philosopher, scholar, and the second President of India. His birthday serves as a reminder not only of the legacy he left behind but also of the profound impact that educators have on society as a whole.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Robin Sewa, ADC (Dev), stressed the importance of the day and highlighted the contributions Dr Radhakrishnan in shaping the future of the nation in the field of education.
Mr Sewa expressed his gratitude towards teachers, acknowledging their invaluable role in crafting society and influencing the future of communities through their wisdom and life lessons.
Further, he mentioned that educators play a pivotal role in guiding and empowering the future generation, further helping them realise their capabilities and helping them accomplish different milestones in life.
In addition, he underlined the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and embracing moral principles, as they help transform our lives.
Mr BK Basnett, the President of the Retired Teachers Association, expressed his
appreciation for organising such a meaningful event to honour retired educators. He mentioned that although they may have stepped down from their formal roles, their commitment to education and community service remains unwavering. They continue to work diligently, not for personal accolades but for the collective betterment of those around them.
The highlight of the day was a felicitation ceremony, where the retired teachers were recognised for their extensive contributions to education throughout their careers, followed by a series of cultural performances.
Also present were Mr CS Limboo, BDO Pakyong along with the officials and staff from various departments.
