Central Pendam Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Ltd. Inaugurates Major Developments, Paving the Way for Sustainable Growth
Pakyong, February 27 (IPR): The Central Pendam Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Ltd. (CPMPCS) inaugurated significant developments today at Duga, heralding a new era for the organization. The ceremony was attended by Mr LB Das, Area MLA of West Pendam and Advisor to the Departments of Land Revenue & Disaster Management, Information Technology, and Information & Public Relations for the Government of Sikkim.
During the event, a range of initiatives were introduced, designed to bolster cooperative growth, improve financial accessibility, and promote sustainable agriculture.
Notable highlights included: the reopening of the CPMPCS Building, the inauguration of the Duga Common Service Centre, the foundation stone laying for a new CPMPCS Building, the establishment of a Food Processing and Packaging Factory, the inauguration of the SISCO Mini Bank, and the foundation stone laying for a Water Packaging Unit and an Organic Farm, which will encompass free-range chicken farming, fishery, goat farming, turkey production, and Kadaknath farming.
The occasion was attended by Mr Y T Lepcha, Former MLA; Mr Sangay Gyatso Bhutia, ADC Pakyong; Zilla Panchayat, Central Pendam; Panchayat, Central Pendam; Panchayat, Budang Kameray; officials from SISCO Bank and the Cooperation Department; the President of Central Pendam MPCS; members of the SIMFED Board of Directors; and local dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Mr LB Das underscored the vital role of cooperative societies in fostering rural development, self-sufficiency, and employment generation. He highlighted that the revival of CPMPCS represents a major step toward economic sustainability and local empowerment.
He also commended the newly introduced initiatives, particularly the organic farm and food processing factory, which are set to create employment opportunities while promoting sustainable agriculture and entrepreneurship. He urged the community to actively engage in cooperative movements for a self-reliant and thriving society.
ADC Pakyong congratulated the newly formed CPMPCS committee for their exemplary dedication to revitalizing the cooperative society and assured them of his unwavering support for the success of their initiatives.
Moreover, the winner of the lucky draw for MPCS Central Pendam Shareholders was also announced during the event.
