Chief Minister Flags Off Delegation of Buddhist Monks to Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela 2025
Gangtok, February 3 (IPR): In a significant gesture of spiritual and cultural exchange, Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang flagged off a distinguished delegation of Buddhist monks from the state to the sacred Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela 2025.
The delegation, comprising 30 revered monks and two officials from the Ecclesiastical Department, embarked on their journey this morning and will continue until February 7, as they participate in one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.
The Chief Minister expressed his pride and honour in sending off the delegation stating that the participation of Sikkim’s Buddhist monks in the Mahakumbh Mela highlights the state’s commitment to fostering interfaith harmony, promoting its rich cultural legacy on national platforms.
