Chief Minister of Sikkim particpates in the second day of Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav

New Delhi, December 7 (IPR): On the second day of the Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav, a thought-provoking technical discussion titled “Towards Prosperity: Catalysing North East’s Progress for a Viksit Bharat” brought together leaders and visionaries to explore the region’s transformative potential.
During the session, Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang-Golay had the honor of emphasizing Sikkim’s unparalleled appeal as a premier tourism destination, often likened to the scenic splendor of Switzerland. He highlighted the urgent need to improve connectivity and infrastructure to unlock growth and underscored the North East’s pivotal role in driving India’s progress toward a developed nation.
The discussion delved into practical solutions addressing the unique challenges faced by the North East while exploring its untapped opportunities. Chief Minister Mr Tamang outlined Sikkim’s strengths and future potential, reaffirming my commitment to fostering collaborative initiatives that prioritize sustainable development, preserve cultural heritage, and promote economic prosperity.
Commending the Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav as a platform for visionary ideas and regional celebration, Chief Minister further proposed making it an annual tradition to inspire continuous dialogue and progress.
The Chief Minister shared the stage with distinguished dignitaries, including Union Minister for DoNER Mr Jyotiraditya Scindia, Chief Minister of Tripura Dr. Manik Saha, and Chief Minister of Meghalaya Mr Conrad Sangma, was a privilege.
“Their insights added depth to the discussions and reinforced the shared vision for the region’s growth”, he shared.
