DAC GANGTOK HOSTS WORKSHOP ON REVISED FUND FLOW PROCEDURE AND MPLADS GUIDELINES 2024

Gangtok, March 12 (IPR): The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoS & PI) of the Government of India, in collaboration with the District Administration Centre Gangtok, held a full-day workshop on the updated fund allocation process and revised MPLADs guidelines for 2024, alongside representatives from the State of Sikkim.The workshop took place at District Administration Conference Hall.
The Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) offers each MP the opportunity to propose projects worth ₹5 crores annually to the District Collector of a specific district within their constituency. The implementation of MPLADS falls under the purview of the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Division.
Rajya Sabha Members of Parliament have the authority to suggest projects in one or multiple districts within the state they represent. Similarly, nominated Members of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha can choose one or more districts from any state in the country for the execution of their preferred projects under the scheme.
Accountants from various departments can now utilise the mplads.sbi portal for streamlined processes. This portal offers a comprehensive array of features to facilitate official tasks within the state.
At the start of the programme, Mr. Arindam Modak, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, Government of India, introduced the updated MPLADS guidelines, providing a detailed explanation.He informed about the ongoing digitalization of the MPLADS process, emphasising the portal's potential to become a leading platform nationwide. In his closing statement, he encouraged continuous feedback from all stakeholders for the ongoing enhancement of the website.
Mr. Ashish Kumar Gupta, IAS, Director of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoS & PI), Government of India (GoS), along with Mr. Arindam Madok, Deputy Director General of MoS & PI GoS, Ms. Mansi Sinha, Business Analyst of MoS & PI GoS, and Mr. Vivek Singh, Junior Statistical Officer of MoI & PI GoS, served as resource persons from the Ministry during the day-long workshop. Mr Tushar Nikhare, District Collector Gangtok felicitated the resource persons during the second half of the programme.
Earlier, Mr. Rohan Agawane, ADC Gangtok, delivered the welcome address at the day-long workshop.
During the workshop, Ms. Mansi Sinha, Business Analyst at MoS & PI, provided a live demonstration of the MPLAD Scheme procedure from the mplads.sbi portal to accountants from various departments across the state. She presented a comprehensive overview of the technical aspects of the portal and clarified all intricacies associated with the website
