DC Namchi chairs the meeting for the upcoming Rakhey Mela Celebration,2024
Namchi, July 11th (IPR): Ms Anupa Tamling DC Namchi chaired the preliminary meeting for the upcoming Rakhey Mela Celebration, 2024 convened at the District Administrative Centre, today.
Present during the meeting were Dr T N Gyatsho Sr SP Namchi, Mr Subash Ghimirey ADC Namchi, Mr Gopal K Chettri SDM(HQ), Mr Saran Kalikotey SDM(Namchi) along with the committee members of Rakhey Mela Celebration 2024.
During the meeting, DC Namchi suggested various measures regarding the essence of the celebration, wherein she encouraged the committee to preserve and popularise this festival of Namchi. She also ensured the committee to formulate proper law and order at the premises during the celebrations.
Since it is a district festival, she urged them to focus on the vision of the state government and suggested that under Sampoornata Abhiyan, a free health screening camp will be set up. She also advised the committee members to promote zero waste management during the event.
President Milan Rai also highlighted the insights of the celebration for the 16th and 17th of July respectively. It was also informed during the meeting that this celebration will showcase the traditional rituals and cultural performances, promotion of food cultures along various sporting events.
Thereafter, the DC Namchi, Sr SP, ADC Namchi along with the organising committee inspected Kishan Market and Central Park which is designated as the venue for the Rakhey mela celebration this year.
