Soreng, 25 April (IPR): Under the chairmanship of Mr. Dhiraj Subedi DC Soreng, a meeting was held at the District Administrative Centre (DAC) conference hall to finalize the district's skill development plan.
The meeting had the presence and participation of Mr D. Bista ADC, Mr Gideon Lepcha SDM (HQ), Mr Sunny Kharel SDM (Soreng), Ms Prativa Tamang Sr. WO (Social Welfare), Mr Arun Mukhia Program Officer (SICB, SDD), Mr Prakash Ch. Subba ALC Soreng (Labour), Mr Bhim Chauhan Principal ITI (Gyalshing), Ms Akansha Gupta YP-MCC (MOLE, GOS), Mr Pravin Basnet District Project Manager (SICB,SDD) and Mr Omahang Subba DPM Soreng (SBC).
The core of the meeting was enhancing job roles across several fields such as organic grower, mushroom grower, receptionist, food and beverage service,four wheeler service and forest nursery raiser. The proposed skill enhancement plan was meticulously discussed and received approval, setting the stage for immediate implementation. The skill enhancement of existing temporary employees appointed under Soreng district was also discussed.
In addition, the committee also outlined a comprehensive list of training programs needed in the district including cutting and tailoring, bakery, broom binding, and packaging of large cardamom and organic manure.
A major highlight of the meeting was the to conduct a “Job Mela”. This Job Mela would be coordinated by Ms Akansha Gupta (YP-MCC, MOLE, GOS), which will serve as a dynamic platform for employers and job seekers, facilitating on-the-spot interviews and immediate job placements.
To assist job seekers, an “Information kiosk” will be established at the DAC Soreng premises, manned by Mr Omahang Subba (DPM, SBC). This initiative will provide ongoing support and information, ensuring that the benefits of the skill development initiatives are accessible to all eligible candidates.
