Day 6 of postal ballot voting gets underway in Gangtok district
Gangtok, April 14 (IPR): The sixth day of the postal ballot voting process is currently underway at GMC Futsal Arena, Deorali (FC II), and Paljor Stadium (FC III). This marks the final day for employees under the categories of Officials other than Polling personnel and Police Headquarters to cast their votes at their designated Facilitation Centres.
However, recognising the importance of ensuring every eligible voter has the opportunity to participate, the Office of the District Election Officer cum District Collector/Magistrate, Gangtok district, has announced a special window on April 15th.
This special provision has been made to accommodate left-out voters across various categories who were unable to cast their vote during the previously notified dates and time periods. These voters are invited to cast their postal ballots on April 15th from 9 am to 6 pm.
Polling personnel who were unable to cast their votes on the dates specified for them are directed to DIET College, Burtuk (FC I) to cast their postal ballots.
Furthermore, Hall 1 and Hall 2 of GMC Futsal Arena will cater to personnel from District Police, Absentee Voters on Essential Services (AVES), and Officials other than Polling Personnel.
Similarly, Paljor Stadium will facilitate left-out voters from Sikkim Armed Police and Police Headquarters on the extended date.
