Namchi, 7th April: District Task Force Meeting on Immunization was held at the Chamber of the District Collector, Namchi on 6th April under the chairmanship of DC (South) Shri. M. Bharani Kumar. The meeting was attended by CMO (South) Dr D.C. Sharma, DSO (South) Dr Urgen Sherpa, DRCHO (South) Dr Junita Yonzon from District Hospital Namchi along with officials from other Line departments.
DRCHO (South) Dr Junita Yonzon briefed the house on the Covid -19 vaccination status of South including vaccine beneficiary coverage, stock position of vaccines and the vaccination plan for South District.
To date, a total of 14442 beneficiaries have successfully been vaccinated with their 1st dose and 1812 persons vaccinated with their 2nd dose of the Covid-19 vaccine under South District.
The total number of 16254 beneficiaries vaccinated included health workers, frontline workers, ASHAs, AWWs, comorbid persons and persons aged 60+.
DC South Shri M Bharani Kumar directed the officials from District Hospital Namchi to conduct vaccination sessions on a daily basis. He has assured to deploy additional police personnel at the Vaccination site to ensure compliance of Covid-19 protocol and crowd management. He also assured to provide chairs for the observation room and directives were given for the same to be provided the next day at the vaccination site.
