Educational Exposure Tour to Tamil Nadu and Kerala Flagged Off for Sikkim's Awardee Teachers

Mr Raju Basnet, Minister for Education, Sports and Youth Affairs, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Departments, flagged off an educational exposure tour for State and Commendation Awardee Teachers at SNT Complex, today.
The programme was organised by the Education Department, Government of Sikkim.
In his address, Mr Basnett extended his best wishes and expressed confidence that the teachers would gain valuable insights. He emphasised that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing the professional skills of educators.
He also highlighted that the knowledge and experiences gained from the tour would contribute to strengthening Sikkim’s education system.
A total of 36 teachers, accompanied by their spouses, will take part in an 11-day tour to Tamil Nadu and Kerala. They will visit schools in rural and urban areas to learn teaching methods, share ideas, study cultural and historical practices.
This is the third edition of the programme, introduced by Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang and announced on Teacher’s Day in September 2022. National Awardee Teachers are sent on international tours, while State and Commendation Awardees participate in national educational tours.
The flag-off programme was attended by Mr Tashi Chophel Secretary School Education, Mr Sonam Denzongpa Principal Director School Education, Ms Tsheringkee Chingapa Director School Education and Planning, Mr Kiran Dahal, Deputy Director Planning Education Department, officials and staff from the Education Department.
