Fourth Day of the exquisite celebration of “Kuzu Cultural Festival”
Gangtok, May 4 (IPR): On the 4th day of ‘Kuzu Cultural Festival 2025’ organised by the Culture Department, Government of Sikkim, Padma Shri Awardee Mr Gadul Singh Lama, popularly known as Sanu Lama, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest at Manan Kendra, today.
The 10-day Cultural festival that commenced from May 1 concluding May 10, 2025, is a platform to showcase the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the state, bringing together the diverse ethnic communities in a spirit of unity and pride.
Mr Sanu Lama, expressed heartfelt gratitude for having him as the Chief Guest. He appreciated the participants from diverse cultural background for their enthusiasm and exceptional performances.
The day started off with a Heritage Walk at Sikkim State Archives, which enabled the participants to explore Gangtok’s cultural institutions, oral histories and spiritual atmosphere.
The participants discovered the state’s diverse communities, rituals, and connection to nature, promoting appreciation and preservation of its heritage.
The event was followed by a screening of the French Film, “Mystere”, at the Mini Hall of Manan Kendra.
The celebration was further enriched with, exquisite performances displayed by the cultural group from Nagaland, and continued with captivating dance performances by Lepcha, Bhutia and Nepali community, adding vibrant colours to the celebration.
Likewise, the day ended on a high note at MG Marg, with mesmerising folk dance performances by multicultural communities of Sikkim, followed by enchanting folk songs by the group of Bhutan.
