General Observer, Gangtok Supervises Post-Poll Document Scrutiny

Gangtok, April 20(IPR): The scrutiny process, under the supervision of Mr Jitendra Kumar, took place at DIET College, Burtuk, in the presence of candidates and representatives from different political parties.
General Observer Mr Jitendra Kumar, IAS, along with Returning Officers from nine Assembly Constituencies, including Sangha and one Parliamentary Constituency in Gangtok district, examined documents related to the polls on April 20, 2024. The process witnessed active participation from representatives of various political parties.
Mr. Tushar G Nikhare, District Election Officer-cum-District Collector Gangtok, in his address, welcomed the General Observer, Mr. Jitendra Kumar, and the political party representatives attending the scrutiny process. He provided detailed information regarding the scrutiny process and informed that representatives from political parties could raise queries regarding the poll day report.
The Returning Officers systematically scrutinised the poll-related documents and found no irregularities in the process.
Following the scrutiny process, the political party representatives examined the Strongroom.
The machines will remain sealed and guarded by armed personnel until the counting day on June 2, 2024, for Assembly Constituencies, and June 4, 2024, for Parliamentary Constituency.
