General Observer, Namchi conducts scrutiny of various documents

Namchi, Apr 20 (IPR): On the day following the election, Mrs Annapurna Alley, District Election Officer (DEO) cum District Collector, Namch along with General Observer for Namchi district, Mr. Amar Nath Upadhyay, conducted the scrutiny of various documents at Namchi Government College, Kamrang, today in the presence of candidates/election agents.
This scrutiny was conducted for the Sikkim Parliamentary and Assembly segments encompassing seven constituencies within the Namchi district to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the electoral procedures.
Also in attendance were Additional District Collector cum Returning Officer, Namchi, Mr. Anant Jain, along with Returning Officers.
It may be recalled that the polling for Parliamentary and Assembly Constituency General Elections 2024 had concluded successfully for Namchi District on 19.04.2024.
As per the data received, the total turnout of voters across all seven constituencies was 81.86%. Additionally, 10 Poklok-Kamrang Assembly Constituency with 83.34% recorded the highest voter turnout in the district.
The voting process had commenced in all 139 polling stations on Friday from 7 am till the closing of the poll.
The polled EVMs and VVPATs were stored in the Strong Rooms established at Namchi Government College, Kamrang under 24X7 CCTV surveillance with adequate security measures.
Proper security arrangements were put in place throughout the electoral process by the District Police. Similarly, various line departments and volunteers including NGOs and students had actively assisted with essential services in and around the Polling Stations.
It is noteworthy to mention that as compared to the General Elections 2019, the elections this year witnessed a notable surge in voter participation with a 1.62% rise in voter turnout.
