Gyalshing District successfully conducts General Election Polls 2024

Gyalshing, April 20(IPR): Today marked a significant milestone in the democratic journey of our nation, as the vibrant spirit of democracy echoed across the Gyalshing District with the successful conduct of voting at over 74 polling stations. The participation of our citizens has been commendable, with a total of 83.21% approximate voter turnout, showcasing the active engagement of the electorate in shaping the future of our democracy.
Among the 59,405 electors, comprising 29,667 male voters and 29,738 female voters, the democratic process unfolded with inclusivity and enthusiasm. The election proceedings were conducted smoothly and peacefully, reflecting the commitment of both the electorate and the administrative authorities towards upholding the democratic ethos.
Throughout the day, the District Election Officer, Deputy DEO, Returning officer and the control room team proactively addressed queries and challenges arising from the polling booths, ensuring transparency and efficiency in the electoral process.
Upon the conclusion of voting, all polled Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were securely transferred to the control room under the vigilant supervision of respective Sector Magistrates.
Following the procedures, EVMs were securely stored and sealed within the designated strong room situated at the auditorium of Girls Senior Secondary School, Kyongsa. This process was conducted in the presence of General Observer, Mr. Pankaj Yadav, IAS, District Electoral Officer/District Collector, Mr. M. Bharani Kumaar, IAS, Returning Officer/Additional District Collector, Gyalshing, Ms. Pari Bishnoi, IAS, SP Gyalshing Mr. J Jayapandian, IPS, ARO/SDM, Gyalshing, Mr. N. B Biswakarma and election agents.
The Gyalshing district has once again demonstrated its commitment to democratic values, and the results of the elections, eagerly awaited by all, will be announced on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024.
