Health Camp organised at Pakyong DAC to commemorate 9th Ayurveda Day Celebrated
Pakyong, October 29 (IPR): The National Ayush Mission, Health and Family Welfare Department, Pakyong in collaboration with District Administrative Centre (DAC), Pakyong organised a day long health camp at the premises of DAC Pakyong to commemorate the 9th Ayurveda Day.
The camp, held under the theme "Ayurveda Innovations for Global Health” focused on using Ayurvedic practices to address non-communicable diseases, climate change, and holistic wellness while supporting global health goals.
The event was inaugurated by Mr Rohan Agawane, DC Pakyong along with Mr Thendup Lepcha, SDM Pakyong and Mr Kusal Gurung, Deputy Director LR&DMD.
The camp focused on workplace wellness through Ayurvedic practices, offering health screenings, including height, weight, BMI, random blood sugar (RBS), hemoglobin, blood pressure, oral health, and vision tests.
In addition, participants received consultations from dieticians and Ayurvedic consultants along with free Ayurvedic medicines based on individual consultations.
The National Ayurveda Day is observed annually on Dhanvantari Jayanti (Dhanteras) to raise awareness about Ayurvedic principles, medicinal herbs, and lifestyle practices.
Present were Dr Madan Mani Dhakal, CMO Pakyong District, Dr Kuljan Lama, MO Ayush, Pakyong District, staff from DAC, medical staff from Pakyong PHC and the general public.
