Hon’ble Chief Minister’s Labour Day Message

The Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang has extended his warm greetings to the working class people of Sikkim on the occasion of “Labour Day”.
In his message the Hon’ble Chief Minister has expressed his indebtedness to all the workers who are rendering their invaluable service especially during this lockdown due to COVID-19 global pandemic. It is through their laborious effort and resolute courage that the lives of the public are made conveniently smoother.
Today, we celebrate Labour Day and the achievements of our workers. We commemorate the hard work, dedication, and sacrifice of all our workers, who continue to persevere for the prosperity of our state and creating a healthy environment for us to live in.
Our Government remains committed to improving the well-being of our workforce in Sikkim. We continue to work to protect and promote workers’ rights in human resource management policies and empower them to increase productivity levels. In this hour of need an announcement of Rs 300- per day as incentive was made along with essential commodities. Stranded immigrant workers are provided with financial assistance of Rs 2000/- each as relief during lockdown.
On this occasion, let us renew our dedication to work together in the service of our State. I am confident that we will secure a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come, overcoming challenges lying ahead.
