Date: 12-Nov-2024
Gangtok, November 12 (IPR):
The five Sikkimese students selected to participate in the prestigious Japan Science High School Programme, also known as the Sakura Science Programme, along with 47 students selected from various states across India, participated in an orientation session on the first day of their exchange at Japan on November 11, 2024.
Following the orientation, they visited the Kazusa DNA Research Institute, Japan where they engaged in extensive interactions with top researchers. This visit provided the students with a unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge DNA research and gain valuable insights from experts in the field.
The students are supervised by four chaperones—two representatives from the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and two supervisors from different states—ensuring a well-organized and enriching experience.
The Sakura Science Programme is designed to foster international exchange in the fields of science and technology, connecting youth from Japan and other nations.
