Inter District Open Women Football tournament kicks-off at Jorethang Maghey Mela 2025.
Namchi, January 17(IPR):
The fourth day of Maghey Sankranti Mela, 2025, witnessed the second semi final match of Inter District Open Women Football Tournament, organised by Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim, in collaboration with the Mela Organising Committe.
Mr Indra Hang Subba, MP had graced the day as the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by Mr Bhim Hang Limboo, Minister Building and Housing Department labour Department, as the Guest of Honour.
The day also had the presence of Mr Madan Cintury MLA Zoom-Salghari cum Chief Patron of Maghey Sankranti Mela, Mr Biren Chandra Rai Advisor SBS, Mr Yougen Tamang Press Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr Pavitra Manav President NJNP, Ms Manjari Rai, Vice-President NJNP, Mr Nim Pintsho Bhutia SDM HQ Namchi, Ms Monika Rai SDM Jorethang, and Officers from line departments.
The second semi final match was played between Soreng and Mangan districts. After a total score of 1-0 goals, the team of Soreng district won the match, defeating their opponent. Ms Minu Hangma Limboo from the winning team was awarded with the title of Player of the match.
The Chief Guest and the Guests of Honour were also presented with Souvenirs from the Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim.
