Jan Arogya Samiti (JAS) Training Held at Pakyong PHC

A Jan Arogya Samiti (JAS) training was successfully conducted at Pakyong Primary Health Centre on the 3rd of February 2025 in the presence of CMO Pakyong District Dr. Madan Mani Dhakal to strengthen community participation in healthcare services.
Also present were Medical Officer In-Charge Pakyong PHC; Deputy Director, IEC Cell, Pakyong PHC; Nodal Officer, Comprehensive Primary Health Care; Deputy Director, IEC Cell, District Hospital Singtam; MO AYUSH, MLHPs and JAS Members.
The agenda of the training covered the following topics.
1. Role and Responsibilities of JAS: Understanding the function of Jan Arogya Samiti in strengthening primary healthcare.
2. Community Engagement & Participation: Encouraging active involvement of local communities in health initiatives.
3. Health Promotion and Disease Prevention: Strategies to raise awareness about preventive healthcare measures.
4. Management of Untied Funds: Proper utilisation and allocation of JAS funds for healthcare improvements.
5. Strengthening PHC Services: Enhancing healthcare service delivery through better coordination and support.
6. Government Health Schemes and Programs: Familiarising JAS members with various health schemes and their implementation.
The training provided valuable insights to JAS members, enabling them to play a more proactive role in community health development.
