Launch of COVID 19 Vaccination for 15-18 years children (Covaxin) at Namchi District Hospital
Namchi,3rd January : COVID 19 Vaccination was inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri Ganesh Rai, Chairperson of Namchi Municipal Council. The respected guests present were Shri G.P. Sharma Joint Director (HRD), Shri Laxman Tamang CDPO, Namchi, Dr SN Adhikari, DMS (S), Dr Junita Yonzon DRCHO (S), DPHNOs, DNS, IEC personnels, Health care workers from sub-centres, ASHAs and parents of children aged 15-18 years.
DRCHO (S) gave overview of the COVID 19 vaccination for children aged 15-18 years. She highlighted the importance of 'covaxin' vaccine for the children between 15 to 18 years. The children aged 15 years or more will be able to register and book the slot on cowin.gov.in and the venue is at Namchi District Hospital and all PHCs under South District. The interval between two doses is 28 days. The documents needed is Aadhar card, Ration card or school identity card etc, to be given at the time of registration and at vaccination centre by children from 15 to 18 years. The sessions will be conducted at the different health centers as per their schedule.
From 10th Jan 2022 onwards, precautionary dose will be given to Health Care Worker (HCW), FrontLine Worker (FLW) and 60 above with co-morbidity. The precautionary dose should be taken after 9 months from the administration of 2nd dose and simultaneously 18 above COVID 19 vaccination continues as before.
The venue for precautionary dose is at Baichung Stadium, Namchi.
