Members of 16th Finance Commission of India Visits Namchi District
Namchi, January 21 (IPR):
As a part of the five days official visit, the members of the 16th Finance Commission of India arrived at Ravangla, Namchi District today.
The distinguished visitors included Mr. Ajay Narayan Jha Member, Ms Annie George Mathew Member and Ms Promila Rajvanshi PPS to Mr Ajay Narayan Jha.
They were accompanied by liaison officers from the Finance Department of the Government of Sikkim, namely Mr Binod Sharma, Mr Norbu Dadul, and Ms Rituja Gajmer.
Upon their arrival at Tathagata Tsal, Ravangla, the delegation was warmly received by Mr Rishal Dorjee Bhutia MLA of Barfung Constituency, Mr Subhash Ghimire ADC (HQ), Namchi, Mr Tshiten Bhutia OSD of Tathagata Tsal, Mr Nim Pintso Bhutia SDM (HQ) Namchi, Mr Sunil Kumar Mothey, ADC Ravangla, Mr Rinchen Dorjee Bhutia SDM Ravangla and Mr Bishnu Prasad Sharma Former Chairman of STCS.
The team continued their tour with a visit to the Bada Bangla (Eco Resort) in Temi, where they were welcomed by Mr Ravi Kumar, in charge of Temi Tea.
Following this, the members proceeded to the Temi Tea Factory, where Mr Ravi Kumar provided a detailed explanation of the tea-making process. This was followed by a visit to B.A.C. Temi Tarku, where they were joined by Mr Roshan Rai BDO Temi.
In addition to the site visits, Mr Ajay Narayan Jha a member of the 16th Finance Commission, addressed a gathering of local officials and took feedback from the Panchayat Presidents and the BDO, offering an opportunity for a constructive dialogue on local governance and community development.
