Minister Roads and Bridges Leads the Joint Inspection to Reshi Tunnel and Adjoining Areas
Soreng, July 25 (IPR): Mr Nar Bahadur Dahal Minister for Roads and Bridges led a joint inspection along with Mr Erung Tenzing Lepcha MLA cum Advisor (Roads and Bridges Department) today at Reshi to address the issues relating to Reshi tunnel along the NayaBazar-Legship road.
Accompanying them were Mr Nima Sherpa Former Chairman (NHPC), Mr Dhiraj Subedi District Collector (Soreng), Mr Sunny Kharel SDM (Soreng), Mr Santosh Kumar Alley SDM (Mangalbarey), Mr SK Yadav ED/CEO (Rangit IV HEP), Mr SP Lal GM (Rangit IV HEP), Mr KC Sharma Chief Engineer (NH), Mr Namgay Lepcha ACE (NH), Mr Sonam Dadul ACE (NH), Mr Tara Subba SE (R&B, Soreng), DEs, AEs and JEs.
The team closely reviewed the tunnel, wherein the Minister directed the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) to work in coordination with the state government as per the work plan. He then asked to expedite the repair works carefully keeping in mind that any kind of damage will not rise in the future. He further gave directions to NHPC to explore solutions for the peripheral seepage problems inside the tunnel.
During the inspection, NHPC had agreed to comply with the directions of the Minister and assured to work closely with the District Administration and the Roads and Bridges department to improve the conditions along the NayaBazar-Legship road.
