Minister of State Mr Tokhan Sahu Concludes his Official Visit to Namchi
Namchi, 28 April (IPR):
Mr Tokhan Sahu, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, concluded his official visit to Namchi district, today.
During his visit, MOS inspected PM Shri Government Secondary School Assangthang, he was presented with a detailed PowerPoint briefing highlighting the school’s key achievements, facilities, and infrastructural developments. These included the establishment of digital classrooms, an ICT lab, installation of solar panels, Water Facilities and a CCTV surveillance system, among others.
Engaging warmly with the students, Mr Sahu also recited a poem and interacted with both the students and school staff during a tour of the classrooms.
Following the school visit, he proceeded to Maniram Phalidara to inspect a jointly constructed PMAY-J house under the PMAY-G and MGNREGA schemes. Here, he interacted with Panchayat members and the beneficiary Mr Dawa Dorjee Tamang and his family members, discussing the construction and impact of the initiative.
He also visited Health and Wellness Centre and Anganwadi Centre at Maniram Bhangyang, where he discussed the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Health Card and other wellness initiatives.
During his visit, he underwent a routine health check-up conducted by the centre’s medical staff.
Earlier in the day, the Minister offered prayers at Siddheshwar Dham, seeking blessings from Lord Shiva.
Throughout the final day of his visit, Mr Sahu was accompanied by MLA 11 Namchi-Singhithang Mr Satish Chandra Rai, DC Namchi Ms Anupa Tamling, SDMs, CEO Namchi, BDO Namchi and other officials from concerned departments.
