Ministry of DoNER Greenlights Major Healthcare Projects in Sikkim

Gangtok, September 7 (IPR): The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has approved three significant proposals presented by Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang-Golay during the review meeting of Ministry of DoNER with Government of Sikkim here at Samman Bhawan today.
Union Minister for Communications and DoNER, Mr Jyotiraditya M Scindia, who was on a two-day visit to Sikkim, met with the Chief Minister and other key officials to assess the ongoing initiatives and explore future development strategies for the state.
During a press briefing at Samman Bhawan today, Union Minister Mr Scindia announced the approval of the various proposals submitted by the State government.
The Union Minister highlighted the central government's dedication to improving Sikkim's healthcare infrastructure, recognising the state's growing needs in this sector. The approval of these projects is expected to enhance healthcare access and quality across both urban and rural areas.
Furthermore, Chief Minister confirmed that the Ministry of DoNER has sanctioned a total of ₹400 crore for a range of projects that will soon be executed in Sikkim.
The Chief Minister expressed his appreciation to Union Minister Scindia for his support and for taking the time to visit Sikkim to discuss the state’s developmental priorities. He emphasised that this financial boost will be instrumental in driving forward key projects aimed at strengthening Sikkim’s infrastructure and overall development.
In attendance were Mr Raju Basnet, Minister for Education, Law and Sports & Youth Affairs, Chief Secretary Mr V.B Pathak, ACS Mr R Telang and senior officials from the State Government
Post press briefing, the Union Minister departed for Bagdogra.
