NCORD and NMBA Monthly Meeting Held at DAC, Pakyong
Pakyong, October 03 (IPR):
The District Collector Pakyong, Mr Rohan Agawane, IAS, chaired the monthly meeting of the Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) at the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Pakyong today.
The meeting reviewed the actions taken on key issues discussed in previous sessions. Seven major agenda were revisited, including the Cannabis Crop Destruction Drive, the sale of tobacco and alcohol near educational institutions, vehicle checks—particularly focusing on student drivers at the Rangpo checkpost—concerns over duplicate alcohol, the District ICON & Awareness programme, drug trafficking, and the SARATHI programme.
Furthermore, reports and actions taken by concerned departments were thoroughly discussed.
DC Pakyong instructed that a joint drive be organised to address violations concerning the sale of tobacco and alcohol near educational institutions. Additionally, DC Pakyong highlighted the success of the "Taste of Victory" food stall competition under NMBA, aimed at combating drug abuse among youth through entrepreneurship.
The winners were Mamring Senior Secondary School, Pakyong (1st place), Pachey Senior Secondary School, Pakyong (2nd place), and Rangpo Senior Secondary School, Pakyong (3rd place).
The meeting was attended by Sangay Gyasto Bhutia, ADC Pakyong; Mr Rinzing Chophel Rai, ASP Pakyong; Mr P.R. Dulal, RTO, Transport Department; Mr Narayan Mishra, Joint Director Education Department; Ms Sunita Dahal, SWO, Social Welfare Department; Mr Tashi Gyamtso Bhutia, ADO Agricultural Department; Mr Dinesh Sivakoti, Inspector Excise Department along with SARATHI Coordinator.
