Namchi block observes World Toilet Day 2024

Namchi Block celebrated World Toilet Day 2024 with the theme "Hamro Sauchalay, Hamro Samman". The campaign saw active and enthusiastic participation from all 11 Gram Panchayat Units (GPUs) in the block.
The event was graced by the Panchayat Presidents, Panchayat Members, GPU staff, and local residents, fostering a strong sense of community engagement.
A key highlight of the programme was the distribution of sanction orders for the construction of Individual Household Latrines (IHHLs) under the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (SBM-G) initiative. These orders were handed out to the beneficiaries in all the GPUs, marking a significant step towards improving sanitation in the region.
Additionally, the event also included a public awareness session focused on the importance of maintaining clean and hygienic toilets. The public was sensitised on ensuring the functionality of individual household toilets, emphasising the need for proper sanitation practices for improved health and wellbeing.
