North-East United FC lifts the champions trophy of Governor’s Gold Cup 2024

The Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang-Golay joined the Governor of Sikkim Mr Om Prakash Mathur, at Paljor Stadium for the electrifying final match of the 40th All India Governor’s Gold Cup International Football Tournament.
In a nail-biting clash, North-East United FC showcased remarkable resilience to claim a well-deserved victory against Gangtok Himalayan SC in a tie-breaker (4-3).
The Chief Minister extended heartfelt congratulations to the winning team for their extraordinary performance and commended Gangtok Himalayan SC for their impressive journey throughout the tournament.
“Reaching the finals is a testament to their hard work and dedication, and their journey will undoubtedly inspire many young footballers,” he said, lauding the runners-up for their sportsmanship and determination.
The event saw a vibrant turnout of passionate football enthusiasts, whose energy and support added to the grandeur of the occasion.
