Pakyong District Administration Strengthens Emergency Response Skills with New Training Phase
Pakyong, May 3 (IPR):
The District Administrative Centre in Pakyong has started the third batch of its ongoing training programme on Disaster Management and Office Management at the auditorium of PM Shri GSSS Dikling. The initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance disaster preparedness and improve administrative efficiency across the district.
Two batches have already been completed, with participants gaining vital skills in emergency response protocols and office operations.
The training programme, conducted in collaboration with the George Telegraph Training Institute, Kolkata, began on April 16 and will continue until May 21, 2025. It covers key sub-divisions including Pakyong, Rangpo, and Rongli.
A total of 272 personnel from the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and various administrative offices across the district are participating in this extensive capacity-building initiative.
The programme is designed to empower and equip participants with critical skills to respond effectively during emergencies, while also enhancing administrative efficiency through structured office management practices and strengthening disaster preparedness at the grassroots level.
Key focus areas of the training include: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and first aid techniques,fire safety measures and use of fire extinguishers,overview of the Disaster Management Act and response protocols,mitigation strategies for floods, earthquakes, forest fires, and choking incidents,risk assessment and preparedness planning at local and grassroots levels.
