Pakyong District Staff Receives Comprehensive Training in Office Management and Disaster Response
Pakyong, April 16 (IPR):
The District Administrative Centre, Pakyong, in collaboration with the George Telegraph Institute, Kolkata, has commenced a comprehensive 66-hour training programme on Office Management and Disaster Management today, and it will run until May 21, across Pakyong, Rangpo, and Rongli sub-divisions.
Aimed at over 200 newly recruited adhoc staff members along with regular staff of the district, the training programme is designed to enhance the capacity and readiness of both the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and administrative personnel. This initiative is part of the district’s broader strategy to strengthen institutional efficiency and disaster preparedness.
Over the course of one month, participants will receive hands-on training in essential office and disaster management skills. Key areas of focus include:
•File maintenance and documentation
•Drafting professional emails and official notes
•Creating impactful PowerPoint presentations
•Using the E-Office system for improved workflow
In addition to office management, a critical component of the programme involves preparing staff to serve as first responders during emergencies. The training aims to build technical competence in responding to natural hazards, ensuring the staff can act swiftly and effectively in times of crisis.
The initiative underscores the importance of capacity-building and risk reduction in the face of increasing disaster threats. By equipping district personnel with practical skills and knowledge, the training will contribute significantly to creating a more resilient administrative framework in Pakyong.
